Food Allergies

I am an adult professional dancer with Masters in Political Science (yep, that's what it takes to keep being a dancer where I'm coming from) and a bad case of Food Allergy.  And  metabolic issues. And, chronic inflammation. And, a genetic mutation that is expressing. (If you're looking into food allergy subject, chances are you have come across those abbreviations - MTHFR, CBS, COMT, etc.)

Gee, was i sickly as a kid.  More so, as a teenager.  But, I was actually okay for quite a while in my adulthood.  Until...

...some years ago, I had a scary episode ending up having an ambulance come to my house -  my heart started pounding  crazy fast and wouldn't calm down, I became short of breath, dizzy and weak, and... I had to run and sit on the toilet where my dinner rushed out of me with the speed of light..

I though i was dying.  What happened? What did i do on THAT DAY that made me sick?

Oh,  was i busy that day! "From morning till dawn" I was running around the town between my jobs, personal dance practice, food shopping and cooking, and finally,  hand washing a bunch of laundry.

But again, I was a work horse to begin with, so i did not REALLY get tired.  Well, okay, so I did one little shortcut, I added a store bought mayo to my delicious eggplant-garlic-tomato salad...  So what?  It was so delicious that I still ate it the next day, and... felt even sicker.  After that,  I just couldn't eat anything for a couple of days, at all...

I wound up running to all kinds of doctors.

The heart seemed healthy, except the abnormal rate and arrhythmia.

Initial multiple tests of stomach showed nothing wrong.

In the meantime I went on beta-blockers, but hardly felt better.

About half a year from then, repeated stomach tests showed gastritis, duodenum and gallbladder inflammation. Obviously things progressed fast. I went on the antacids.

My heart and stomach symptoms never stopped but became milder. But, then...  TA-DA!!!...

... I started getting THE SWELLING!!!!!    THAT'S when I realized I had the

 FOOD ALLERGIES.

I hope documenting my personal struggle and research can be helpful and encouraging for those with health issues, similar to mine.

Now, that's what this blog is about.
